ABOUT PVJFF
The Pioneer Valley Jewish Film Festival presents 3 weeks of more than 30 award-winning films from around the world, plus speakers, exhibits, concerts, and special events. Through collaborations with dozens of educational, cultural, and religious organizations the Festival provides audiences a multifaceted exploration of contemporary Jewish culture, secular and religious life, history, and politics. Films and events take place across the Pioneer Valley - Amherst, Chicopee, Northampton, South Hadley, Springfield, and West Springfield - in venues ranging from the Basketball Hall of Fame and Showcase Cinema to the Majestic Theatre, the Academy of Music in Northampton, and the National Yiddish Book Center. The PVJFF is a collaborative effort of more than 40 volunteers and professional staff from organizations across the Pioneer Valley. The Festival offers, among other things, a temporary common ground where the community can learn, be inspired, and enjoy being together. Cinematic stories of joy and celebration, love and loss, tolerance and hate, ethics and history, demonstrate time and again how important film is as a medium to help us to understand who we are. Come participate and be part of this exciting event!
